Corona Virus Social Distancing Diary: Day 7
Every Day, A New Crisis
Today, we scurried to find new housing as we were about to become displaced from the home away from home that we chose to hunker down and ride the covid-19 storm out, in.
It’s a long story, but we are staying in a rural area where we go when we need to leave New York City. The house that we normally go to is under renovation for flood damage, so we can’t go there, and instead, we have been staying at a resort house. It’s a bunch of houses on this resort property, and we have access to one of them. It’s just like a normal house, except it’s rented for short term stays, like the way a hotel is. It’s very nice. It has a kitchen, it’s furnished, there are dishes and all the things you might need in a home.
It’s also on a very quiet and peaceful river, and there are many outdoor play areas, trails, parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, golf courses, even a baseball field.
We have fallen in love with the area and are happy to be able to stay here from time to time.
But our stay has been cut short because the resort has decided they will be closing due to corona virus, and…
