I Found Not One But Two Hidden Rooms In My House Today

I haven’t been so excited about something in a long time.

Two of the men working in our house. We have fun around here.

We bought a new house recently after a long, sad, delayed, complicated ordeal where our other house that we bought and loved so much got flooded. We spent this past week doing some home improvements.

To start, we had all the natural wood trim painted black, because that’s how we roll.

Then, we had the weird small walls taken out of the room downstairs where there was an ancient, icky old hot tub that has probably seen countless butts. The room is in the process of being fixed and opened up right now.

Next, we had the open foyer closed off (which honestly scared me with a young, curious, wild child in the house) to give us about 100 additional square feet on the landing upstairs.

Then, the real fun began.

I’d heard tell of extra space walled off above both bedrooms. So our contractor took a really clever, loud tool and cut holes in the drywall so that we could actually peek inside and see if the rumors were true.

After opening up one square of drywall, he said there was a whole hidden room up in there, probably about 15' x 15', with the high sloping roof as its ceiling. It was basically a hidden attic!
